CaRM

CaRM (Cardiac Rhythm Management) combines multiple pacemaker data extraction platforms into one comprehensive solution. It seamlessly connects to major pacemaker systems like Boston Scientific, St. Jude, Medtronic, Biotronik, and others, streamlining workflows for electrophysiology (EP) practices. CaRM provides features such as patient alerts, automated scheduled downloads, EHR integration, advanced reporting, analytics, and dashboard functionality, enabling efficient and effective management of pacemaker data.

Problem

An electrophysiology practice needed a tool to manage alerts and notifications from multiple pacemaker platforms efficiently. Handling alerts separately across different systems led to confusion and chaos, and varying alert timings across platforms complicated patient management. Nurses and doctors required a unified solution to streamline electrophysiology operations.

Solution

After analyzing all pacemaker platforms, we established a uniform standard by using open-source connectors to facilitate HL7 message exchange between systems. We secured certification with Allscripts and NextGen, which allowed us to efficiently download and manage all alerts, simplifying staff management. Additionally, making the platform mobile-enabled offered doctors exceptional flexibility, enabling them to manage patient alerts and billing from virtually anywhere in the world.

The Overview

Thanks to the system's ease of use, the electrophysiology practice was able to allocate more time to other tasks. They saw a significant increase in home monitoring and general patient billing and were able to effectively manage previously overlooked unbilled claims. Impressed by these results, the practice owner decided to offer the same system to other electrophysiology practices.
